Serving the Community This Easter
Rooted in the powerful words of Matthew 26:39, "Not as I will, but as You will," this Easter weekend presents an opportunity for the community to come together in service, reflection, and faith. Hellfighters Mission of the Cross in Concord, NC, is hosting a special Easter Saturday Serve Day focused on sharing the message of Jesus Christ's death, burial, and resurrection.
The event will center around a meaningful time of communion paired with a warm Easter meal, including ham and traditional sides. More than just a meal, the gathering is designed to bring hope and encouragement through the message of salvation, creating a space for both volunteers and attendees to connect on a deeper level.
The day begins at 9:30 AM with setup, followed by a volunteer devotional, neighborhood canvassing, and meal preparation. Lunch will be served from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, with a Bible message shared during that time. The event will conclude with cleanup at 2:00 PM.
Community members are encouraged to bring their families and participate together, making it a meaningful way to give back during the Easter season. Volunteers are also invited to contribute food items such as mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, fresh fruit, and desserts to help make the meal special.
In addition to this event, organizers are planning more service opportunities in the coming weeks, including a serve day at Moore's Place later in April. Those interested in supporting the mission can also contribute through donations or by participating in future volunteer efforts.
